If your pet is taking ongoing medications for longer term conditions, you may need to request additional medicines to be dispensed. Please allow at least 3 working days for medication to be ordered and dispensed for repeat prescriptions.
In most cases, the vet will need to re-examine your pet every 6 months (more frequently for some medicines) in order to ensure they are still appropriate and fit for your pet. This medicine check consultation is charged at a reduced rate of £27.00.
Written Prescriptions
Prescriptions are available from this practice. The charge for a written prescription is £ 19.40
You may obtain relevant veterinary medicinal products from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.
Your veterinary surgeon may only prescribe relevant medicinal products following a clinical assessment of an animal under his or her care. A prescription may not be appropriate if any animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.
You will be informed on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.
The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring a repeat prescriptions for, or supplies of, relevant veterinary medicinal
products every six months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. The standard charge for re-examination is £25.00.
Please allow at least 48 hours for any prescription to be prepared. Written prescriptions must be paid for at the time of the request. Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.
